The Academy of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Malaysia successfully organised the Medical Review Officer (MRO) and Assistant Medical Review Officer (AMRO) Training Material Review Workshop on the 17 March 2018 at the Vistana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The participants of the workshop consist of MRO and AMRO certified practitioners, and representatives from the Oil and Gas Industries; the main industries that required the services of MRO and AMRO. The issues with the content and the assessment method of the MRO and AMRO was presented by Dr Mohd Hatta Usul. This was followed by discussions between AOEMM, MRO, AMRO and Industries representatives on the way forward to improve the training and practice of MRO and AMRO in Malaysia. Dr Abu Hasan Samad, the President of AOEMM also invited any MRO who would like to be trained as trainers. This is to ensure the sustainability of the programme in AOEMM, as currently there are only three active trainers; i.e., Dr Abu, Dr Hatta and Dr Abdul Halim Mohamed.
