To recognise and honour members who have made significant contributions to the development and progress of this specialty, the AOEMM established the Lifetime Achievement Award. This prestigious award celebrates individuals whose dedication, innovation, and service have had a profound and lasting impact on the field of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Scope of the Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award aims to:

- Highlight the importance of dedication and lifelong commitment to the specialty.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Lifetime Achievement Award, nominees must meet the following criteria
Membership:
- Nominees must be current members of AOEMM in good standing.
Professional Experience:
- Nominees must have a minimum of 20 years of professional experience in occupational and environmental medicine.
Contributions:
Demonstrated significant contributions to the field, including but not limited to:
- Advancements in research, education, or clinical practice.
- Leadership roles in professional organizations or institutions.
- Publications, presentations, or other scholarly activities.
- Development of policies or programs that have positively impacted occupational and environmental health.
Global Impact:
- Contributions that have had a substantial impact not only in Malaysia but also on the international stage.
Ethical Standards:

Awarding Process
The process for awarding the AOEMM Lifetime Achievement Award will be as follows:
Nomination:
- Nominations can be submitted by any AOEMM member in good standing.
- The nomination must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the Annual General Meeting of the AOEMM.
- A detailed nomination form must be completed, highlighting the nominee’s contributions, achievements, and impact on the field.
- Supporting documentation, such as CVs, letters of recommendation, and evidence of contributions (e.g., publications, awards), must be included with the nomination form.
Review and Selection:
- The Awards Committee, consisting of a chairman, and two additional members will be established by the AOEMM Council to review all nomination.
- The committee will evaluate nominees based on the eligibility criteria and the significance of their contributions.
- The committee may request additional information or conduct interviews with nominees if necessary.
Approval:
- The Awards Committee will present their recommendations to the AOEMM Council for final approval.
- The AOEMM Council will make the final decision on the award recipient(s).
Announcement and Presentation:
- The award recipient(s) will be notified in advance and invited to attend the AOEMM Annual General Meeting for the award presentation.
- The Lifetime Achievement Award will be formally presented during the AOEMM AGM, with a dedicated session to honour the recipient(s).
Recognition:
- The award recipient(s) will receive a commemorative plaque, a certificate of recognition and a sum not exceeding MYR5000.00. The amount of award money will be decided by the AOEMM Council.
- Their achievements will be highlighted on the AOEMM website.
