The Academy of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Malaysia (AOEMM) proudly congratulates Prof. Dr. Krishna Gopal Rampal on receiving a Certificate of Appreciation at the 32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Malaysia, held at NIOSH headquarters in Bangi.

The award was presented in recognition of Prof. Rampal’s outstanding contribution and unwavering support in promoting occupational safety and health in collaboration with NIOSH. His decades-long commitment to advancing OSH education, research, and policy has made a significant and lasting impact on Malaysia’s public and occupational health landscape.
The certificate, signed by YB Chong Chieng Jen, Chairman of NIOSH Malaysia, commends Prof. Rampal’s excellence and active participation in fostering safer and healthier workplaces.

A Lifelong Commitment to Occupational Health
Prof. Rampal is widely recognised for his academic and professional leadership in occupational medicine. He has authored key NIOSH publications, including Occupational Safety and Health in Malaysia, and co-developed the Guide for the Occupational Health Doctors (OHD) Examination. His contributions span policy development, workforce training, and advocacy for worker health, particularly among vulnerable populations such as migrant labourers.
As one of the founding members of AOEMM and its 5th registered member, Prof. Rampal has played a crucial role in the development of the Academy. He has served as Secretary, Censor in Chief, and is currently the Chairman of the Examination Committee. His efforts have significantly shaped professional standards and lifelong learning in occupational and environmental medicine.
In addition, Prof. Rampal has also served on the Board of NIOSH Malaysia and has an NIOSH individual membership number of 007, further cementing his leadership role in shaping national occupational health strategies and institutional governance.

This recognition by NIOSH Malaysia reaffirms the critical importance of sustained leadership and cross-sector collaboration in improving workplace safety and public health.
