15th AOEMM Induction Ceremony: A Celebration of Excellence


The Academy of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Malaysia (AOEMM) proudly hosted its 15th Induction Ceremony on August 10, 2024, at the prestigious DoubleTree by Hilton in Kuala Lumpur. This annual event is a cornerstone of the Academy’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating the achievements of professionals dedicated to advancing occupational and environmental medicine in Malaysia.

Ceremony Highlights

The evening commenced at 6:15 PM as guests were invited to take their seats. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as council members and inductees donned their ceremonial robes, symbolizing their commitment to the values and mission of AOEMM.

The ceremony began with a grand procession led by the inductees, followed by council members, and culminating with the entrance of the AOEMM President, Dr. Abu Hasan Samad. Each inductee took their designated seat, ready to embark on a new chapter in their professional journey.

Induction Process

Dr. Abed Onn, the Vice-President of AOEMM, had the honor of announcing the names of this year’s inductees. The ceremony recognized two categories of new members: Fellows and Members. The distinguished inductees included:

Fellows:

  • Dr. Sathya A/L Subramaniam

Members:

  • Dr. Siti Sara Binti Yaacob
  • Dr. Lim Mei Ching
  • Dr. Jaseema Begum Binti Nazir Khan
  • Dr. Saifurahman Bin Abd Rahim
  • Dr. Rozhan Shariff Bin Mohamed Radzi
  • Dr. Ahmad Ikhwan Shah Bin Akhtar Ali
  • Dr. Gnanasegaran A/L Xavier
  • Datuk Dr. Kulwant Singh Gill

Each inductee took a solemn pledge in front of President Dr. Abu Hasan Samad, affirming their dedication to uphold the standards and ethics of occupational and environmental medicine. Following the pledge, Professor Dr. Victor CW Hoe, Censor-in-Chief, presented certificates to each inductee, who then signed their names in the official record book.

The induction ceremony not only celebrated individual achievements but also underscored AOEMM’s ongoing commitment to excellence in occupational and environmental medicine. By welcoming these accomplished professionals into its ranks, AOEMM continues to strengthen its role as a leader in promoting health and safety in workplaces across Malaysia.

As the ceremony concluded at 7:00 PM, attendees left inspired by the dedication and passion demonstrated by the new Fellows and Members.
