The 10th AOEMM Annual Seminar was held on 23 July 2016 at the Vistana Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The theme for the seminar was “Working and the Ageing Population”. The aim of the seminar is to share with the participants the issues of ageing working population in Malaysia from the perspective of various stakeholders.
The seminar kicked-off with the talk by Dr A P Hari an Human Resource Practitioners from BASF Petronas Chemicals on the “HR’s approach in managing an ageing working population”. It was followed by a talk on “The ageing population and the insurance company” a perspective presented by Dr Alan Tan from the Great Eastern Assurance. Dr Jefferelli Shamsul Bahrin from BASF Asia Pacific continued with “Work and wellbeing in an ageing society”, talking on his experience in the BASF in Germany. The seminar concluded with a panel discussion by the three speakers, along with Datuk Hj. Shamsuddin b Bardan from the Malaysian Employers’ Federation and Datin Dr. Nik Amsharija Mohamed from Social Security Organization. The session was chaired by Prof Dr Abu Hasan Samad.
